sometimes you just need to go somewhere for a few days and have no schedule and take pictures with a friend. and that is exactly what we did.
here's a few pictures from good 'ol sweet november.
there is really no easier way to see if someone belongs to another than by the way they look at each other.
it goes without saying, these two are meant to be.
when you've known the bride since before preschool, your role as 'photographer' takes on a whole new meaning. you try not to cry through the ENTIRE day and you take WAY too many photos, because you just can't help yourself. capturing this day will be one of my most favorite days from here on out. you two rock and i love you both!
Well Colorado-- we sure did try to plan for some nice weather, but snow greeted me when I landed, well played Denver. We waited for the snow to pass, then drove a few hours to spend the night in good 'ol Alamosa and then hiked up the sand dunes to create some awesome goodness and it was so worth it.
You may tend to see a pattern I like to follow// meeting new people and capturing just a little piece of their love story along the way.
This time I was in Maui and the couple was Dom & Erik. These two are the perfect example of a couple who embodies who they are, who they want to be, all the while, living in the moment.
2016....yes, yes, and yessss. I am beyond thankful that I am able to do what I do and be a part of these people's lives.
Captured some of my favorite people both in life, love, and marriage. The pictures below by no means sum up ALL that I have done this year, but I sure tried to get a little bit from a few of my favorites.
Sometimes you meet someone and you just know....yup I'm going to spend my life with this person. In this case-- that is exactly what happened. Kim called me the day after they met and told me how she found the perfect guy and is pretty sure they are going to get married. Two years and one awesome little guy named Brody later and here we are!
Let me tell you about these two. Briana & Kristian- you nailed this whole marriage thing!
They went to a courthouse on any other day. Made it official and decided they just wanted to have a big party with family and friends in a barn. Kristian put so much work into the space to make it the perfect venue to celebrate the marriage and he knocked it outta the park. Custom bar with a working front end of a car to frame out the wood and a welded BAR sign overhead. They had not one, BUT two bands who filled the night with unlimited dancing and entertainment. Did I mention everyone wore costumes?! Yes-- these are my kind of people.
When you know the wedding is just going to be amazing even before the day starts. That is exactly what happened on Emma & Evan's wedding day.
I was lucky enough to have met Emma a while back when she just got engaged. All things aligned and I couldn't wait to be a part of this 'awesomeness' known as their wedding.
I just can't enough of the people that have been popping up in my life lately. This lovely lady put together some gorgeous florals for me for a wedding event and I just knew she was a good one. Several months later with baby number 2 on the way- I'd say it was time to document some of what makes her who she is.
This family. All the love. All the time.
Any chance to shoot with one of my favorite humans [Alyssa Burkholder]......I'm in! Normally I meet the couple way before the wedding, but in this case, I met Ashley and Keane the day of and was of course knew I would love them as soon as I met their fur child Doyle. The day provided exactly what we needed, a little sun, a few clouds, and a whole lot of love.
The wedding was on the property where they lived and let me tell you------- anyone would have dreamed of such a venue. Are you thinking Tuscan villa?... because I sure am.
Mike and Mary are getting married!! Ahh that has a good ring to it.
Met these two about a year ago in Portland. Their love is so genuine and real and I can't get enough of the two of them. I am beyond grateful that they are letting me be a part of this journey with them. From the west coast over to the east, I cannot wait to see them tie the knot next year.
There is something to be said for doing exactly what it is I do, being a wedding photographer. We are invited into your most intimate moments of one of the biggest days of your life. I am so honored to have been able to tag along with Kylee and Mike and document their love on this special day. All the feels...all the day long!
Rain in the forecast? Bring it on- we had an absolute blast blending in to the whatever mother nature wanted to throw our way. Take the time to hit play and scroll away to enjoy this amazing day. The venue, flowers, rain, and a little beach action made this day exactly what it was meant to be. Congrats you two. I think you are simply amazing.
