Who ever said weddings had to take place during the day?

I loved their vision of what they wanted for their wedding. It was perfect! Make no mistake, their fur child Wilbur was definitely front and center for the first half of the day and I full support it.

They decided to do their first look at her aunt and uncle’s house and I honestly wanted to move in the second I stepped foot into the house. A girl can appreciate some good design.

We dodged the rain for most of the day just in time to do portraits and block traffic a little. Just my style :-)

The night ended with one hell of a party which included opening the roof of The Juniper during the month of December. Ohio weather has its perks sometimes.

Karley & Gerard// Unalaska, Alaska

Karley & Gerard// Unalaska, Alaska

This will probably be one of my favorite elopements or weddings I will ever shoot.

Yes the couple was amazing and yes the scenery was PERFECT, but this was also a place we called home (and still do) for a handful of years and it will forever be one of my absolute favorite places on this earth.

We literally planned this whole wedding within 3 months and man was it a goooood one. Yes I got stuck in Anchorage for a little while due to weather, but in typical Alaskan fashion— I knew quite a few people at the airport and we made a night of it. I LUCKILY made it to the island and was there for a whole 48 hours haha! It was so worth it.

2018. way to be awesome.

2018. way to be awesome.

2018. you were pretty freakin great.

it was impossible to choose any favorites from the year or even to include a picture form each wedding or session, but damn i tried.

I started this year in leavenworth with a group of amazing humans at Alpine Northwest and it was the best way to kickoff the year.

I flew on a lot planes, ate alone in a lot of restaurants and met a ton of humans that seriously make my heart swell. started a workshop with some badass babes and had my first wedding across the pond.

i told a lot of love stories and captured a few new lives that came into the world. i feel so lucky and fortunate that all of these people trusted me to be a part of their story.

Hillary & Frank// Kentuck Knob Wedding

Hillary & Frank// Kentuck Knob Wedding

Ohhh these two. Where do I even begin. Another case of love at first sight, on my end anyway haha! I know I’ll be seeing these two again because we definitely made dinner plans that I’ll be taking them up on!

But really, what a freakin special day! Most of you don’t know that I have a degree in interior design and did that for some time before diving in to photography. When Hillary & Frank mentioned it was going to be at one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s amazing creations I WAS 100% DOWNNNN! You had me at hello pretty much.

Liza & Andrew's Backyard Wedding

Liza & Andrew's Backyard Wedding

this one is definitely a favorite for me for a few reasons.

I always like capturing weddings of people that I know, but when it’s a family you also grew up with that’s a bonus. not to mention this took place in my hometown in Ohio. all the feels/all day long.

the intimacy of saying their i-do’s at home is priceless. you can venue hunt all you want, but I can’t encourage everyone enough to start with a place that simply means something to you. it will make the day so much better.

Prakash American/Indian Fusion Wedding

Prakash American/Indian Fusion Wedding

Take a seat because this one is a longggg one. For good reason. This wasn’t just another wedding. This was two families and two cultures becoming one and I was so dang lucky to be there to capture all of the goodness that came from it.

Scroll slowly and take it all in. The prep. The ceremonies. The white horse. The dancing. The vibrant colors. And of course the Love. It’s all worth it.

Christine & Dinero// An Italian Love Story

Christine & Dinero// An Italian Love Story

l'italia è un posto bellissimo in cui innamorarsi

yet again another reason why i love my job and my couples. I've know these two separately for many many years and was beyond thrilled when I learned they were dating.

when they said they were tying the knot in italy, it was an easy choice to plan my entire year around it so i could go haha. but really, i love you both and was so thankful to follow you around in the heat and eat, drink, and share a wall with you.

dinero, if you want to come to every shoot with me and bring the jokes, you're hired. the love the two of you have for each other is so honest and playful and i hope you know how rare that is.

Hannah & Michael// Rainy Wedding/ Ohio

Hannah & Michael// Rainy Wedding/ Ohio

this will forever be one of my absolute favorite weddings.

not only are hannah and michael the sweetest couple, but they stood in the POURING rain for their ceremony because they didn't even care that they were getting soaked as long as they were becoming husband and wife.

when i say 'i'm with you on your wedding day' you better believe i will stand in the rain with you because i love my couples so dang much.

Lily & Dunson// Wedding/ Columbus

Lily & Dunson// Wedding/ Columbus

I don't have many weddings in urban settings, but when I do MAN do I love to show it off. Columbus is looking real cute for Lily & Dunson's wedding.

I can't even begin to describe the energy and emotion of this girl. Ahhh love you so much and I am so happy that I got to capture every single one of your tears and smiles. Dunson, the love you have for Lily and your friends and family is so obvious, and I hope you know how rare that is.

Take a nice scroll and enjoy the day. If you didn't see any Gaga action, you didn't go far enough.

Baby Hudson// Welcome to the World

Baby Hudson// Welcome to the World

Well Baby Hudson, I've been with ya since the start of it all when we announced to dad that you were coming into the world.

I'm beyond thankful that I've been able to capture each moment of the first stages of your life and I can't wait to see what an amazing little man you turn into.

Your parents are pretty amazing, just thought you should know that. Plus your brother Ruger will always have your back.

That's all bud. Go take a snooze.

The Greens// Wedding/ Cincinnati

The Greens// Wedding/ Cincinnati

let me just tell you about these two. besides being two of the most amazing humans ever, they are literally the best of friends and the greatest love of each other's lives.

it doesn't hurt that every time we get together it ends with beer. what can i say, my kind of people.

i know i go on and on about how much i love my job sometimes, but i truly mean what i say. i am beyond thankful that i get to capture true, genuine love stories.

it goes without saying, that i definitely cried a little during this wedding. thanks a lot dustin. but really- you guys rock and i hope you ask me document your lives every single year.

i know that no matter what comes your way, you will always be side by side, hand in hand, making the best of it.

I feel like i could write a novel of thanks to Braden & Noelle for making this workshop happen.

In this industry, for most of us anyway, we sit at home or at a coffee shop all day usually alone trying to win people over, make a good connection with a potential client, or editing hours upon hours until we're semi 'caught up'. Let's be honest, if we put on real clothes or talk to another human on a weekday, things are happening people!!!! Don't get me wrong, we all LOVE what we do and are super fortunate that we are able to make a living out of what we love most; tell peoples love stories.
